This guide has been created to answer the questions brides ask most often and to help you understand what to expect throughout your made-to-order journey.

01 | Begin Your Order
Your journey begins by submitting an enquiry through our website or contacting the atelier directly. Once you’ve chosen your gown, we’ll discuss your wedding date, sizing requirements and answer any questions you may have before confirming your order.
To secure your production slot, a 50% deposit is required before production begins.
02 | Measurements
Once your order has been confirmed, you’ll receive our comprehensive Palais L’amour Measurement Guide, designed to make the measuring process simple, accurate and enjoyable.
The guide includes detailed written instructions, visual references and step-by-step demonstrations to ensure every measurement is taken correctly. Should you require any assistance, we’re delighted to offer a complimentary video consultation where we’ll guide you through the process personally.

03 | Crafting Your Gown
Once your measurements have been received, production begins.
Your gown is carefully brought to life using thoughtfully selected fabrics, exceptional craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail. Where required, luxurious fabrics, lace and embellishments are sourced from Europe to ensure every gown reflects the standard of quality Palais L’amour is known for.
Because we intentionally accept a limited number of commissions, we’re able to dedicate exceptional care and attention to every gown while offering a significantly shorter production timeline than is typically expected.
Most Palais L’amour gowns are completed within approximately three to four months, depending on the design selected.
Throughout production, we’ll keep you updated with personalised progress updates, giving you a glimpse into the creation of your gown as it comes to life.
04 | Final Touches & Dispatch
Once your gown has been completed and undergone our final quality inspection, we’ll notify you that it’s ready for dispatch.
The remaining 50% balance is payable prior to shipping.
Every gown is carefully packaged in our signature Palais L’amour presentation and packaging, including a premium protective garment bag designed to keep your gown safe during travel, on your wedding day and for years to come.
As a small token of appreciation, every Palais bride also receives a carefully selected bridal gift with her order.
05 | Welcome to Palais
As a Palais L’amour bride, you’ll also receive exclusive early access to our bridal mini dress collection before their public release.
We’re honoured to be part of such a meaningful chapter in your life, and we’re committed to making every step of your bridal journey feel as memorable and beautiful as the gown itself.
Complimentary shipping is included on all South African orders.
We are delighted to offer international shipping, with courier costs calculated separately based on your destination. International shipping fees will be confirmed with you prior to dispatch.
Every gown is thoughtfully prepared for its journey. Perfectly packaged with the same care and attention it was created with; first in our signature Palais L’amour packaging before being secured within reinforced protective packaging for transit. Once your gown has been shipped, you’ll receive your courier details and tracking information so you can follow your dream delivery every step of the way.
Your gown is individually crafted to your exact measurements, making accurate sizing an essential part of the made-to-order process.
Following your order confirmation, you’ll receive our comprehensive Measurement Guide, complete with detailed instructions, visual references and a simple checklist for you to fill in and send back to us. If you’d like additional guidance, we’re pleased to offer a complimentary video consultation to assist you throughout the process.
Our goal is to make measuring straightforward, enjoyable and as accurate.
A 50% deposit is required to secure your order and production slot. Production of your gown begins hereafter.
The remaining 50% balance is payable once your gown has been completed and is ready for dispatch.
Following your order confirmation, you’ll receive your first invoice for the deposit. Once your gown has been completed and undergone our final quality inspection, a second invoice will be issued for the outstanding balance prior to shipping.

Every Palais L’amour gown is individually made to order and crafted to your exact measurements. Before dispatch, each gown undergoes a comprehensive, documented quality inspection to ensure it meets our exacting standards before leaving the atelier.
As each gown is created exclusively for one bride, returns are accepted only under exceptional circumstances and must be requested within 15 days of delivery. Any return request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and require prior approval from the atelier.
Please note that the initial 50% deposit is non-refundable, as it secures your production slot and contributes to the premium materials, sourcing and craftsmanship involved in creating your gown.
